32 Bit Compiler

It is easier to achieve if you use the 32 bit compiler because you can just specify the URL as part of a Help macro when creating a link.

With the 32 bit compiler (HCRTF) you can use the !EF macro to Execute a File, similar to the !EP macro (Execute Program)

Try these link statements...

!EF("mailto:sales@xzy.aaaaa.aaaa.com")

!EF("http://www.easyhelp.com")

  1. Select or highlight your text or graphic etc as you would when creating a normal LINK to a TOPIC
  2. Open the LINK DIALOG
  3. !EF("mailto:sales@xyx.abc.com") Paste in this statement replacing the sales@xyx.abc.com with the email address you want your users to use.

NOTE - please don't leave our email address in we get lots of email already:-)

16 Bit Compiler

There is no direct support for this because Microsoft only started thinking about the Internet with Windows 95 and there is no feature in the Windows Help System to use URLs as such.

However, you can execute other programs (!EP) from Help files using a special Link such as the one below:

!EP("c:\\netscape\\netscape.exe http://www.eon-solutions.com",0)
