Error 1079: Out of File Handles - Help Authoring Site
The compiler does not have enough available file handles to continue the build. This error is likely to occur if you are compiling in an MS-DOS box or if you have Word for Windows running at the same time.
RESULT: The compiler aborts the build.
SOLUTION: If possible, increase the FILES setting in the CONFIG.SYS file to Files=70. Then reboot your computer and recompile.
1079 is a common error caused by a PC configuration that is not quite right. Word gobbles up file handles especially on a network and the Help compiler uses a lot too.
EasyHelp/Web should have increased the Files=statement when it installed but perhaps you need to increase the value still more.
Don't worry it is just Windows and the Help Compiler running out of steam (as it frequently does!).
When you installed EasyHelp/Web it probably said you needed to reboot you PC because the files= statement in c:\CONFIG.SYS was too low. If you tried the examples without re booting you would get the out of file handles error.
If it still happens after re booting your PC just increase the value in CONFIG.SYS until the message goes away.
For example edit CONFIG.SYS
Tip. Use SYSEDIT to edit CONFIG.SYS easily from within Windows
