Below only applies to the old version 3 of EasyHelp/Web.

Learn to plan your documents effectively.

1. Even though EasyHelp/Web will fix numbered lists, the help compiler has a problems with numbered lists that are formatted in 12 Point Times New Roman (I do not joke!! Only MS could produce that sort of bug). Either use Arial or use 10, 11 etc but *not* 12 point.
2. Plan your document first getting the structure right BEFORE creating Topics.
3. Use Word styles. This makes everything neat and it is easy to change the look of the whole document by changing the style definition.
4. Create extra styles if you need.
5. Use 'Automatically update document' with styles to force consistency across a number of documents.
6. With just a few styles you can achieve a neat formatting. Heading 1 thru 6, Normal, Normal Indent, Bullet, Num List. There are quick keys for all these in EasyHelp/Web.
7. Tables. Table borders do not show up in Help files. Plus heavy border around each cell look very cluttered. We will be releasing some example soon of different ways of formatting a table so they look good online.
