Mysterious Appearance of '0's on Paragraphs - Help Authoring Site

This is the notorious Word 97 and 32 bit compiler problem!

It is not caused by EasyHelp/Web at all but we have put in some small fixes and have the following recommendations which may alleviate the problem:

  1. Make sure you have the latest version of EasyHelp/Web!
  2. Make sure there is no fullstop (.) after the number.
  3. Make sure you have the FIX Bullets and Numbered lists option set on the Advanced Global Options dialog.
  4. Make sure you use the styles provided in the EASYHELP.DOT template.
  5. This often occurs when there is hidden corruption or formatting in imported paragraphs from a previous version of Word. Creating a brand new Word 97 document or copying the text to notepad and re-copying it into a new Word 97 document will rid the problem formatting.
  6. Make sure the styles the paragraphs within a numbered list is contiguous, there are no empty paragraphs between, breaking the sequence.
