I have problems with WORD 2000, after compiling I find numbered lists, with "0", "1", etc. at the beginning of paragraphs in my help file.

Word creates "phantom" bullets/numbered lists when documents are imported from previous versions.

We have created a utility that fixes the problem. After you have downloaded and installed this free utility, simply run it on your word docs by TOOLS | Templates & Addins, then add listbuddy.dot, this should enable the ListBuddy Toolbar.
